Boomerang Bags

We have a Boomerang Bags group based at our Sustainability Centre at Carindale.

Bags: $4 each.
Cutlery wraps: $5 each.
They are for sale from the B4C office during office ours and at our Sustainability Centre open days.  We don’t have EFTPOS sorry (cash only). Funds go back to cover costs and various projects of the group as well as to make regular donations to the Bulimba Creek Environment Fund.

Do you have fabric or cotton to donate? The group would love to receive it to upcycle into eco-friendly and unique shopping bags! Things like surplus fabric from your sewing projects or tea-towels, linen etc. Please get in touch (contact info at the end of this page). You can drop-off at our office and we also have an after hours drop-off address also in Carindale (contact Jewel below to get it).

Boomerang Bags is a grassroots, community driven movement tackling plastic pollution at its source. Volunteers get together to make re-useable ‘boomerang bags’ and other items using recycled materials, as a means to provide a sustainable alternative to plastic bags.

Find out more on the global Boomerang Bags website.

Our group has also started making bunting (great balloon alternative for decorating).

Enjoy sewing for a good cause? We’re currently at capacity with volunteers – but you can join the waiting list for our group. Contact Jewel to be added to the waiting list.
