Nest box monitoring

Squirrel glider family using a nest box

Our Citizen Science Nest Box monitoring is underway.  Citizen scientists are now monitoring nest boxes in local bushlands and parks throughout the Bulimba Creek Catchment.

Our new nest box inspection camera is capable of inspecting boxes and hollows up to 10m high and the remote control and LED camera means the animals hardly know we are there.

All our data is being uploaded to the Atlas of Living Australia using BioCollect

There won’t be any public monitoring events at this time, due to COVID-19, but look out  for our online display for Global Citizen Science Month!

The project is funded by the Queensland Government’s Citizen Science Grant program. Read the QLD Government announcement.
