  • Sustainability Centre Open Day

    Sustainability Centre, Cnr Wright St & Old Cleveland Rd, Carindale
    9am-12pm. Guest speaker at 9.30am. Sustainable living advocate Jacq Driscoll will be talking about DIY living and self-sufficiency. Have a tour of the community gardens and native plant nursery. Learn about our recent projects and activities and chat to our friendly team. We also have a book swap stand. We're also selling Boomerang Bags, natural honey and jam! But no need to buy anything - just come along and take a look and have a chat over a cuppa. Morning tea provided (gold coin donation or free for B4C members).
  • Whites Hill Reserve Bushwalk

    Whites Hill Reserve
    koala on bushwalk7-9am (was 8-10am in the cooler months). Meeting next to the playground opposite the football clubhouse & cafe. Wear closed in shoes, a hat, sunscreen and repellent. Bring water in reusable bottle. Morning tea provided. This walk is still often referred to as 'Pat's Walk for Pleasure'. Pat hosted this walk for 20 years. Always on the second Sunday of the month, this walk includes morning tea. RSVP for catering to

  • Water in the Landscape

    5.30pm for 6pm start.
    This seminar features a science explainer on the water cycle and microbial health and then we'll jump into a discussion panel that includes an audience Q&A. Guest speaker is Dr Paul Dennis, Senior Lecturer in Env. Management School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science at University of Queensland. There will be the opportunity to meet representatives from your local creek catchment group and join up. Refreshments served. This event is sponsored by a Brisbane City Council Environment Grant.

  • Yimbun Park Bushcare

  • Whites Hill Reserve bushwalk

    Whites Hill, meet cnr Jones Rd & Kildare St
    kookaburra on bushwalk8-9am. An easy one-hour walk around Whites Hill Reserve, guided by members of the Whites Hill – Pine Mountain Community Group. Please wear covered shoes, a hat and sunscreen. Meet at the reserve entrance, corner Jones Rd and Kildare St, Carina. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times inside the reserve.

Morning tea provided (gold coin donation / free for B4C members). Take a look through our book swap stand (bring a book to swap with any book or purchase one for $2). We also have Boomerang Bags and homemade jam for sale. We don't have EFTPoS sorry, cash only. No need to RSVP, just turn up! Our open days are supported by the Bulimba Creek Catchment Environment Fund.
