We’re thrilled to share the success of our recent Community Planting Day at Rembrandt Street Park, Carina, held on Sunday 18th May.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Councillor Lisa Atwood for funding and championing this event. Also to Di Farmer MP, State Member for Bulimba, and Renee Coffey MP, Federal Member for Griffith, for joining us on the day and lending a hand.
Together, we planted 300 native understory plants, including lomandra and ferns, helping to enhance habitat and biodiversity within this important urban green space.
More than just a planting, the day was a beautiful celebration of community. People of all ages came together with shared purpose, transforming the park while building connections. Not just human connects but enhancing a key wildlife corridor that connects Minnippi Parklands to Seven Hills Reserve.
A special mention goes to the many families with young children who took part. It was inspiring to see the next generation engaging with nature and community action — planting not just trees, but values of care and stewardship.
This event is part of the Minnippi Creek Wildlife Corridor Project, proudly supported by Councillor Lisa Atwood, the B4C Environment Fund, and Brisbane City Council.
