The inaugural Catchment Care Luminary Award was Presented to Andrew Davidson on 15th August.

This award is presented to outstanding landcarers in both Bulimba Creek and the wider region who have over a decade of outstanding community leadership, are currently finishing or scaling back their community leadership roles and are willing to record and share their experience with others.

Andrew began his involvement with natural resource management in 1984. He assisted the Lockyer Catchment Association (LCA) to establish the Lockyer Catchment Centre in 1996. As Lockyer Catchment Coordinator, he spent 8 years working with Landcare Groups developing his capacities for restoring waterways and bushland. In his 11 years as Community Engagement and Planning Manager at SEQC, Andrew was responsible for developing and guiding implementation of the community based SEQ Natural Resource Management Plan, working with local and state governments as well as community organisations.

During his presentation, Andrew took us through 30 years of his friendships and achievements in the riotous, groundbreaking and wonderful world of community catchment care.
