John has been volunteering for the environment for the past 30 years. Originally an animal carer, John went on to work assisting bushcare and catchment care in the area of Bulimba Creek and even further afield. He was one of the B4C founding members.

B4C Catchment Manager Wayne Cameron congratulated John and explained that his work encompassed starting groups, running bushcare programs and engaging the wider community.

“Today John is the volunteer Nursery Procurement Manager at B4C and works six days a week sourcing nursery stocks and organising the propagation of native plants by volunteers at the Community Nursery.”

“His contribution to B4C cannot be understated and he deserved his recognition at the Federal level,” Wayne said.
