We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the amazing individuals who joined us at Yimbun Park for a community planting on Sunday, 10 September. It was a day filled with enthusiasm, teamwork, and a shared commitment to creating a greener future for our community.
We would also like to give a special shout out to Councillor Kim Marx (pictured right), Runcorn Ward, and the Brisbane City Council for their generous funding and support. Councillor Kim Marx also joined the clean-up and planting efforts on the day.
Together, we planted an impressive 660 native plants, carefully selecting species that will thrive in Yimbun Park.
The impact of this community planting goes far beyond the immediate visual transformation of the park. By introducing these native plants, we are providing food and habitat for local wildlife, supporting biodiversity, and contributing to the overall health and resilience of our natural environment.
The benefits of this planting will continue to grow and evolve over time, providing future generations with a beautiful and thriving green space to enjoy and appreciate. From the shade of tall trees to the vibrant bursts of color from flowering shrubs, Yimbun Park will become a sanctuary for both people and wildlife.
