A dedicated new team from Community Living Association (CLA) stepped up to support the small but growing Passerine Park Bushcare group ahead of their working bee on Sunday, 23rd March.
On 18th March, a motivated crew—led by Paula from Colombia—got stuck into the prep work, spreading mulch, digging holes for planting, and clearing flood debris from the park’s fenceline and children’s play area. All participants were trainees from the CLA program, funded through the Queensland Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.
The contributions of CLA trainees are something we deeply appreciate. CLA actively supports refugees from Papua New Guinea, and today, we welcomed another from Sudan. As part of our community, they bring diversity, resilience, and enthusiasm—values we cherish. Through hands-on experience across multiple sites in our catchments, they will become skilled regenerators and highly employable professionals.
A huge thanks to CLA for their commitment and effort!
