Brisbane has fewer large, green parks than any other major Australian city. Many of our inner-city and suburban spaces are small, disconnected or in poor condition — leaving little room for the kind of play, freedom and connection to nature that big parks can provide.
Victoria Park was a rare opportunity to change that. The well-consulted plans promised a vibrant space for families, nature lovers, and kids to run free and feel the joy of the outdoors — all right in the heart of our city.
It’s a vision that now hangs in the balance. If we let it go, we lose more than just open space — we lose a chance to reimagine our city for future generations.
